Ron Paul and Educational Freedom
Welcome to Homeschoolers for Ron Paul. This page is a work-in-progress, so please check back often as we add new features and information.
Homeschoolers for Ron Paul is a group of concerned home-educators who believe that parents should be free to make educational choices for their children without government interference. Ron Paul is committed to protecting parental rights, including the freedom to home-educate, and he has proven this with a consistent voting record and continued recognition of homeschoolers and their achievements.
Our goal is to form a nation-wide network of home-educators who support Dr. Paul's bid for the Presidency. We will use this network to gather and disseminate information- sharing Dr. Paul's message of educational-freedom with other homeschoolers.
Please join us in supporting the Homeschooler's Best Friend- Dr. Ron Paul!
To spread the word about Ron Paul's record on Home Schooling, please download a Home Schoolers for Ron Paul "Slim Jim" palm card to hand out to other home school parents.

We’ve been a homeschooling family for about thirteen years.
I believe in homeschooling with the same devotion that I believe the sun will set tonight and rise again tomorrow morning. I tutor and help other families find the homeschool method and program that works for them with the same faith and trust I have that the very air I breathe exists.
However, not every family can or desires to homeschool, and I respect that choice as well. As parents, we need to support and encourage each other in the choices we each make for our families. All children, regardless of where they learn, deserve to be treated with respect and understanding while they gain the education that will allow them to reach their dreams.
I read a news article recently that disturbed me greatly.
An eighth grade girl in Illinois was punished with after school detention for the crime of giving her friend a hug goodbye. You can read the story on MSNBC
Now, I’m not going to argue that the detention was wrong. If the school has a standing policy of no hugging, the girls should have respected that.
But why does the school need to tell 8th grade girls they can not say good by to each other with a simple, quick hug?
It seems to me that those who run our educational institutions are beginning to act more like big government and less like an establishment created by and for the local residents to fulfill a common need.
Extraneous rules, unneeded restrictions, removal of personal rights — all in the name of quality education and the greater good.
Sounds a lot like current big government, doesn’t it? Of course, all publicly funded schools are required to follow government agenda.
Ron Paul can and will change that. When Ron Paul is elected President of the United States, he will start to reduce the presence of government in our daily lives – stop them from making our choices for us, telling us how to raise our kids.
As a country, we will will begin to go back to simpler times. The founding fathers wrote the constitution in order to protect the American people from just this sort of imposing force in our lives.
Ron Paul is the only candidate who has proven his record when it comes to keeping the government out of people’s lives and protecting us from unconstitutional laws.
Nowhere in the constitution does it forbid hugging.
Help protect our Constitution. Support Ron Paul for President.
Children are the Future

Our children’s future happiness, peace of mind, and income are heavily dependent upon the quality and nature of their education now. In today’s world, many people find it impossible to obtain and keep a satisfying and adequately paying job without a degree from a respected university. Acceptance from a top university takes hard work, dedication, and a solid foundation.
When you think about it, the reputation, economy, and even the security of our country, is significantly influenced by the education we give our children today. The quality of our great –great grand children’s lives depend on what we teach our children today. It sounds cliché, but children really are the future.
Some day, the current generation in charge will wither and fall by the wayside, leaving our children to carry on and pave the way for future generations. What are we doing to prepare our children to lead this country successfully in the changing world? Who will step up and lead our country through this period of increasing moral dilemma and scientific knowledge? What happens when, 30 years from now, a product of today’s deficient public education system steps into the oval office as leader of this country?
This is why homeschooling is so vital to the economy, national security, health, and very existence of America. You would think homeschooling in order to provide a balanced, quality education should be supported by the President of the USA. However, that is not so. My question is simple –How can any presidential candidate claim to have the future interests of the United States of America in mind without supporting, and even advocating homeschooling? How does our government expect to raise leaders –adults who can think for themselves, and develop creative solutions when the American public school system does not teach true leadership?
Ron Paul is the only current presidential candidate who truly supports and advocates homeschooling.
And through the generations, the quality of the American public school system has been steadily declining. According to official White House statistics (http://nces.ed.gov/ssbr/pages/reading0407.asp?IndID=39) reading scores have dropped among graduating seniors steadily since 1992. Only 60% of our nations graduating seniors perform math skills at the Basic Level, and of that 60%, only 2% have the ability to do math that is considered Advanced. (http://nces.ed.gov/ssbr/pages/mathematics0407.asp?IndID=38 Figure 2)
On a worldwide scale, 15 yr olds educated in the United States score much lower than their peers in most of the world. In 2003 US teens ranked 24th out of the 29 EOCD countries. With only eleven countries worldwide (EOCD and non-EOCD) scoring lower than the United States. Table 3 http://nces.ed.gov/ssbr/pages/international.asp?IndID=22
