80,000!
August 8th, 2008 by Matt HawesOvernight, our membership total passed the 80,000 mark! Thanks to all who have signed up and to those who have spread the word about CFL to others. We’re less than a month away from the Rally and our goal is to reach 100,000 members by then. It is a goal we are working hard to make, and we need you to keep up the good work! Don’t forget about our Community page, which allows you to send a pre-written message to ten people.
We have sent out mailers and made calls about the Rally, so even more people will learn about CFL if they haven’t heard already. The freedom movement is growing larger everyday as more people wake up to what is happening to our country. On to 100,000!

C-Span at the Rally for the Republic
August 7th, 2008 by Jesse BentonWe’re getting some exciting news from the folks over at C-Span. Nothing is set in stone, but as of right now, they plan to broadcast our afternoon events of September 2 live on C-Span, broadcast the evening events live on C-Span 2, AND send their Campaign Bus for a three hour block to do some additional special coverage.
As a rule of thumb, C-Span attracts about 400,000 viewers for an original broadcast, and then about 250,000 during the multiple (usually three) re-airs. That means that over 1.1 million people will be able to hear our message of freedom, peace and prosperity across the country.
But, added attention means added scrutiny. We need you more than ever to come to Minneapolis and make this the biggest rally for liberty ever!
Boston Tax Revolt Brewing!
August 6th, 2008 by Michael NystromThe Wall Street Journal reports:
The [Massachusetts] state board of elections recently certified that citizen activists have gathered the 125,000 signatures required to qualify an initiative for the November ballot to eliminate the state income tax. The Small Government Act would repeal the 5.3% income and wage tax, as well as the state capital gains tax, which reaches as high as 12%. The ballot initiative would replace the $12.5 billion in taxes with . . . nothing.
Now we’re talking! Does that last line sound familiar to anyone?
Carla Howell of the Committee for Small Government is the hero driving this referendum. Find out more at SmallGovernmentAct.org
The same initiative got 45% of the vote in 2002!
