Attention Ron Paul Delegates and Alternates

posted on 03/03/2008 at 12:53 pm EST

All County delegates and alternates (and all Ron Paul supporters) should plan to attend their County Assembly/Conventions this Saturday, March 8th. Also, if you are a registered Republican, and did not get a delegate seat, please still come to the assembly! Just by being there, you could still get a delegate seat!

Please arrive early to register, and bring a checkbook/cash (about -30), photo ID, and your Voter Registration card (this may not be required depending on the County).

The purpose of the Assembly/Convention will be to:

A. Nominate Republican Candidates for County and State Offices (ie, Commissioner, House and Senate District, etc.).
B. Elect delegates and alternates to serve at:
• Colorado State Republican Assembly/Convention
• Congressional District Assembly/Convention
C. Adopt County Resolutions/Platform

Please note that County Central Committee bylaws state that:
• Proxies are not allowed (ie, you must show up to participate)
• Any delegate vacancy (due to any reason) shall be filled immediately from the alternates in attendance from the precinct in which there is a vacancy, and alternates shall be seated as delegates by numerical order, beginning with the first alternate .

Here is a list of County Assembly/Conventions for the major Colorado counties on March 1st and March 8th. For any County not listed, please check your County GOP website or call our Ron Paul office at 877-573-7933 for assistance.

3 days to Victory in Colorado: Ron Paul rocked Colorado yesterday

posted on 02/02/2008 at 5:41 pm EST

The Colorado events yesterday were a huge success!

Dr. Ron Paul and his wife Carol were greeted by over 2500 supporters at the Denver Convention Center last night, and by more than 500 supporters in Colorado Springs.

“I’m just totally dumbfounded,” Paul said as he began his speech before a raucous sign-waving crowd. “The enthusiasm seems to be growing. Freedom is popular.”

Paul said he is so well-received in Colorado because people in the state share his love of personal liberties, his quest to “return to constitutional principles” and his belief that government needs to be dramatically reduced.

Now it’s time to hit the afterburners and give it all we’ve got to win Colorado for Ron Paul

Here’s how you can help Dr. Paul win:

1)  Sign up at Grassroots Central:  https://voters.ronpaul2008.com/grassroots/

2)  Call 50 Republicans each day and identify Ron Paul supporters in your precinct.

3)  Invite them to your local caucus with you on February 5th (arrive by 6:30pm).

4)  To find your caucus location, check here: http://www.cologop.org (you should also double-check this location on Monday with your County GOP’s website).

5)  Call your County Clerk’s office and confirm your Voter Registration is “Activated” (not applicable in all counties).  http://www.elections.colorado.gov/DDefault.aspx?tid=147

6)  Bring your ID, Voter Registration card (if available), and a map/address to your caucus.

7)  Check our state page for updates:  http://www.ronpaul2008.com/states/colorado/

If you are not a registered Republican, you can still help Dr. Paul’s campaign by making phone calls until Feb 5th.  We also need folks at each precinct caucus location with a video camera and to assist with exit polling.  Email co@ronpaul2008.com if you can assist us.

We all want Dr. Paul to win Colorado!  But the only way to do this is if you take action and do everything they you can everyday until Tuesday, February 5!

Let’s give Dr. Paul and Carol the Best 51st Anniversary present ever: Let’s win Colorado for Ron Paul!

5 days to Victory in Colorado! Get 10 supporters in your precinct today

posted on 01/31/2008 at 2:09 pm EST

Help Ron Paul win Colorado by signing up as a Precinct Leader at Grassroots Central.

Then start calling Republican voters in your precinct neighborhood. All you need to do is identify 10+ Ron Paul supporters who will go to your local County Caucus on Feb 5.

You can make a difference by making at least 50 phone calls every day for Ron Paul.  To win Colorado, we absolutely need everyone to be making your calls for Paul!

After you identify supporters, give them the address to your caucus location (and a map).  Also include your name, cell phone#, and the phone# for your County Clerk.

For example:

Hello,

My name is Carl, and I am a Precinct Leader for Ron Paul.  Here is the address and a map for our precinct caucus on February 5th.  Please remember to arrive early by 6:30pm.

County:  Larimer
Precinct: 4145335325
Caucus Location:  McGraw Elementary, 4800 Hinsdale Drive, Fort Collins, CO

Also, check your Voter Registration with the Larimer County Clerk’s office today:

https://www.co.larimer.co.us/elections/voter_inquiry.cfm

Address:  200 W. Oak Street, Fifth Floor, Fort Collins, CO 80521
Phone#:  (970) 498-7820

Thank you for supporting Dr. Ron Paul and attending our caucus on Feb. 5.  If you know more Republicans in our neighborhood who support Dr. Paul, please contact me.

This is the most important thing you can do on Tuesday!  See you at caucus Feb 5!

6 days to Victory in Colorado! What are delegates? More caucus locations!

posted on 01/30/2008 at 11:57 am EST

What are Delegates?

Delegates are simply representatives from each level (precinct, county, state) who carry the vote for their community.  Delegates are nominated and elected at each level.

Having someone who supports Ron Paul become a delegate is extremely valuable.  This person should be a respected and reliable person, so that your community knows this person and will attend the assemblies and conventions to represent them.  They should be able to present the value of your candidate to the community in a convincing way.

Once someone is nominated as a delegate, they will get the chance to speak at the caucus about Ron Paul and ask for support.  The caucus will then vote on whether to support that person (and thereby the candidate) as a delegate to the county assembly.  Often times the Precinct Captain/Committee person (PC) is a delegate, thus another reason to take on this role if it is available.

By becoming delegates and PC’s, you will be able to get community support and push to make changes in the party and party leadership that you think will be of benefit.  So become a delegate and PC for Ron Paul, or vote for a Ron Paul delegate at the caucus!
