Onward, Paul supporters!

posted on 02/06/2008 at 5:20 pm EST

A close look at the results from yesterday shows that Ron Paul and the campaign are in much better shape than the media might report.  I wanted to extend a heartfelt thanks to everyone in Connecticut who helped turn out the vote and give a good showing for Ron Paul.

The results in Connecticut lend more credence to our hypothesis that the Precinct Leader program and canvassing exact real results.  In just one instance from a story I heard in Stonington, our Precinct Leaders help produce a showing that was more than twice the state’s percentage.  If anyone else has encouraging stories to relate, please email me!

Although your primary has passed, there is still much you can do to help elect Ron Paul.  Check out the new feature on Grassroots Central that allows you to make voter identification calls in other states to help out where we don’t have Precinct Leaders yet.

Thank you again for all the hard work you put in, and as you can see, the freedom movement is still going strong and spreading!

Ron Paul makes front page of Waterbury American

Local paper The Republican-American has recognized the growing support for Ron Paul in the Constitution State, in an article covering one recent Paul convert:

Last December, Soulier knocked on Davis’ door and asked for a Ron Paul bumper sticker to place over his Barack Obama one.

“One of the biggest things voters are looking for in this next election is honesty and if there is one candidate who’s got it, it’s him,” Soulier said Friday.

Soulier is one of a small, but passionate group of state voters who not only believe Paul, a Texas congressman, is the best qualified Republican, but that he will stage an enormous come-from-behind surge and grab the nomination.

Reminder: Voter Registration Deadline Tomorrow

posted on 01/30/2008 at 12:18 pm EST

Tomorrow, January 31st, is the deadline for new voters to mail in their voter registration forms.  Remember, you can only vote for Ron Paul if you are registered Republican.  For all precinct captains, this would be a good day to finish your voter identification and make sure any new voters have mailed in their forms.

*New and unaffiliated voters can still register in person at your Town Hall until February 4th. *

The voter registration form is available here and the list of registrars’ addresses is available here.

For full voter registration information, check the Connecticut Secretary of State’s website .

Paul Defeats Clinton in Clinton Country

A big thank you to all you Connecticut Ron Paul supporters who turned out on Saturday.  As this press release from the campaign shows, the message of freedom and liberty is spreading!

PAUL DEFEATS CLINTON IN CLINTON COUNTRY

MIDDLETOWN, CONNECTICUT - Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul defeated Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the first straw poll to pit Republicans against Democrats on the same ballot.   Middletown, CT held its city straw poll Saturday night at the Church of Holy Trinity.  Proceeds from the fee for participating were donated to the Connecticut Breast Cancer Coalition.  Paul led on the first ballot with 42 percent to Clinton’s 30 percent and Obama’s 20 percent.  Other candidates received 2 percent or less.  Other trailing candidates were eliminated and on the third ballot Paul prevailed 46 to 42 percent.

Bryan Tracy, who is with the Paul campaign in Connecticut, said although the Clinton supporters in Middletown were surprised, he wasn’t.

“This shows Ron Paul’s electability in the general election,” Tracy said.  “We think that when people get a chance to compare our stands on the issues with Hillary’s, we will prevail.”

Good work, Connecticut!  As of today we have 95 precinct leaders signed up to canvass throughout Connecticut.  This program is our greatest tool on our way to electing Ron Paul, so thank you to everyone who has signed up!  Still, there are about 675 remaining precincts in Connecticut, so tell your friends in surrounding neighborhoods and towns how easy it is to make a huge contribution to the campaign.

If you have any questions about the Precinct Leader process, or about the materials on the website, please contact me!
