The Campaign Grows in Ohio!
We’re proud to welcome aboard Maryanne Petranek as our new Grassroots Field Coordinator for Ohio. The Buckeye state was decisive in the 2004 election, and it’ll be no less important this year. Ohio is as crucial in the race for the Republican nomination as it is in the general election — and with Maryanne’s help, and an army of volunteers like you, we will win every possible delegate from the March 4 primary.
Maryanne will organize the ground troops of our grassroots movement — the volunteer Precinct Leaders who will identify every Ron Paul supporter and every winnable undecided voter in the state of Ohio.
The momentum is building!

Congratulations, you did it!
January 5, 2008
I’m happy to report that the ballot access drive in Ohio was successfully completed and all delegate and alternate petitions have been filed with the appropriate election authority.
Ballot access in Ohio is a very complicated and difficult process, but thanks to the hard work of dedicated RP supporters across the state who selflessly give of their time, their talents, and their resources, every voter in Ohio will have an opportunity to say “Yes!” to Dr. No!
I want to especially thank Maryanne Petranek for her indispensible indefatigable leadership, without which we surely wouldn’t have made it.
Thank you, Maryanne. You’re the best!
For life and liberty,
Debbie Hopper

Re: Ohio ballot access report
I just wanted to let everyone know that all the congressional districts have been filed in Ohio along with the at large and at large alternates. On Friday, January 4, 2008, the at large delegates were filed with the Secretary of State’s office and CD 6 was filed at the Columbiana Board of Elections at Lisbon, Ohio.
There were a lot of hurdles to cross these past 16 days but all of the obstacles were overcome and the state of Ohio has what I consider a perfect filing. We will find out sometime in the next 1-3 weeks if we were successful at putting Ron Paul on the ballot officially in Ohio. There were no problems filing at any of the locations across the state. CD 6 has the most interesting story to tell. As some of you already know, up through this morning at 9:00AM we still did not have the original alternate petition in our hands. Many alternatives were thought of, some of them employed, all of them left us with no original. In a set of unusual circumstances, the original was found at approximately 10:00AM this morning. Once again, with a team of people working together, the original was circulated and five signatures were collected. The entire set of petitions was then taken to Lisbon for filing.
Everyone worked at full capacity to achieve the difficult goal of collecting all the signatures necessary to get Ron Paul on the ballot in about 16 days. I would like to thank everyone who pitched in and got the job done: all of the delegates, alternates and petition circulators, all of the district captains, without whom no effective coordination could take place, all of the individuals who sacrificed the Christmas holidays and beyond to continue pursuing the goal of putting Ron Paul on the ballot, everyone at the ohio4ronpaul website, who effectively put up a website in less than 12 hours to have a central location for information, form retrieval and daily updates and the countless others who jumped over hurdles and never let the brass ring escape their grasp.
My personal thanks go out to Joe Bozzi, Susie, Rick, Eric Lee, Nathan, Tim, Chuck, Grant, Peter, Kathy and Gabe——-you are the most dedicated, persevering team of people I have ever had the opportunity to work with in my life. In the clutch, every one of you went well beyond the call of duty. You never said, ” I can’t,” you only said, “What can I do to help?”
The ballot access phase is over, it is 60 days to the Ohio primary on March 4!!!!!
Expect Success!
Maryanne
