Welcome to the Tennessee State Headquarters
Tennessee is a very important state in the 2008 election. Many might think to write off Tennessee due to it being the home of rival republican candidate Fred Thompson. But Ron Paul has been making strong and steady inroads in Tennessee thanks to hard work from supporters and how strong his message carries in this state.
CAMPAIGN
UPDATE FOR RON PAUL
SUPPORTERS
- I hope you
have seen Dr. Paul's wonderful video to all of us. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ryMliyeIDp4
In it he encourages us to stand firm and see what develops in the presidential
campaign. He says: "You never know what may come out about the other
candidates in the remaining months." He calls for a march on Washington DC to take place before the
Republican National Convention! This is in the works for certain and may happen in early June. I'll
be there for sure!
- You can also help
him by calling precincts in OTHER STATES. This kind of
canvassing has proven to be very, very effective. Grassroots
Central has now made it INCREDIBLY easy. Click on this link to help. https://voters.ronpaul2008.com/grassroots/helpanotherstateid.php
I can tell you that Texans and folks in Indiana, Kentucky and North Carolina
and other states that have not yet voted are working VERY HARD to see Ron Paul
win! We can help them!
TENNESSEE NEEDS
CHANGE FOR THE BETTER
In Tennessee, 31,000 of us supported Ron Paul! Because
we are already united in spirit, intent and good common sense, we can keep
our energy and momentum by organizing Ron Paul supporters across the state into
one cohesive, powerful group. We are in the early stages of that development and
need everyone's support and participation at some level. We will soon
let you know about a new website to promote change in
Tennessee and hope you will join our efforts. Ron Paul's new
book, "The Revolution: a Manifesto" is due out soon and will know
doubt lead us in this effort.
Possible Mission Statement: To hold politicians accountable
to the people of Tennessee, secure transparency in government, restore the
rule of law, and protect individual rights and liberties from special
interests and government coercion by providing leadership, education, and
resources, organizing volunteer action in response to pertinent legislation,
and supporting principled politicians who share the same
goals.
Possible 2008 Goals
1) Help
promote Ron Paul's fight to obtain more delegates by supporting, educating, and
encouraging the remaining primary and caucus states in their efforts
to elect Ron Paul. See #2 above to start
immediately.
2) Put pressure on politicians both state and federal to
represent us according to our mission
3) Work towards transparency
in local government and a "paper trail" in elections
Check out this excellent TN watchdog group:

let our state officials know how you feel about our lack of a paper
ballot, send an email to your state
representative. http://www.legislature.state.tn.us/
4) Help Tennessee fight against the adoption of
the National ID card.
5) Educate Tennesseans about local
politics and advocate awareness and action.
6) Show up
at local party meetings, infiltrate, and take by influence. Many
of us are joining parties and going to meetings. We also have a growing list of
Ron Paul supporters in Tennessee who are currently running for
office.

Dr. Rand Paul @ Rally in Nashville, TN Jan. 27
The Nashville Rally with Dr. Rand Paul was a great success with a crowd of about 500 people. Dr. Paul gave an inspiring speech highlighting why what we are doing to save this country is so important. He stressed that the campaign here in Tennessee does not end on February 5th, it's just beginning. With a group this size we can have a influence on the local republican party going into the future. Five speakers from Tennessee spoke briefly before Dr. Paul to give their personal reasons why they support his father. Watch Rand's speech here .
Headquarters Grand Opening
NASHVILLE, TN – January 14, 2008 – Ron Paul 2008, the campaign committee of the Republican presidential candidate who has become a YouTube sensation and achieved the highest single-day fundraising numbers in U.S. history, will open its official Tennessee headquarters in Nashville on Tuesday, January 15 at 12 p.m. at 9 Music Square West. The opening will be marked with an Open House from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. to which the media and public are welcome
Dr. Paul, a libertarian-leaning GOP member of the U.S. House of Representatives since 1997, is the only anti-war candidate vying for this year’s Republican presidential nomination.
“The opening of the official state campaign office in Nashville is another milestone for the Ron Paul effort in Tennessee, which has been abuzz with campaign activity for several months,” said Cheryl Ann Scott, Tennessee Campaign Coordinator for Ron Paul 2008. “Our Tennessee volunteers are dynamically spreading Dr. Paul’s unique vision for the country throughout the state. Tennesseans are witnessing an honest, spontaneous, grassroots movement, the likes of which most of us have never seen before. Dr. Paul's message of freedom has caught on like wildfire in Tennessee, just as it has around the country. Our Music Row campaign office will serve as a headquarters to assist in harnessing this energy.”
Media and curious Tennesseans are invited to join Ron Paul supporters at the Open House. Special guest speakers will include Ron Paul’s son, Rand; Teresa Harmon, state-wide leader of the anti-illegal immigration front in Tennessee and co-founder of Tennesseans for Responsible Immigration Policies; Jacob Hornberger, founder and president of The Future of Freedom Foundation; and Scott Benson, former middle Tennessee U.S. congressional candidate and past chair of the Libertarian Party of Tennessee. Free campaign information, lawn signs, and bumper stickers will be available.
