Thank you

I want to thank each and every one of you for your hard work and dedication to the principles of 1776.

I realize that some of you may be down today after the results of last night’s election. After canvassing, planting signs, making phone calls and standing in the cold all day yesterday, it’s easy to just forfeit and give up. During our forefathers long struggle to gain independence from Britain, after losing many battles and trying to survive the winter at Valley Forge, the colonist and many soldiers grew fatigue, and wanted to quit.

Thank God they didn’t!

For as Tom Paine wrote on the 12 of September, 1777, “Those who expect to reap the blessings of freedom must, like men, undergo the fatigue of supporting it.”

Fellow patriots, this battle is far from being over. In fact, it has just begun. Last night was nothing more than a “beauty pageant.” Getting delegates is what counts.

Over the next couple of months local Republican Unit Committees around the state will hold “canvasses” or “mass meetings” in order to elect delegates to attend the Republican National Convention in September.

Each CD in Virginia is made up of various Republican Unit Committees. These committees will elect delegates to attend the district convention. At the district convention the delegates will select three delegates and three alternates to attend the September Republican National Convention in Minnesota.

We need to get as many Ron Paul supporters as we can to attend the Unit Committe meetings and vote for themselves and other Ron Paul supporters so they can attend the district convention — where we will then vote on our three Ron Paul supporters that paid the money to be a delegate to the national convention.

This is our chance to TAKE OVER the Republican Party in Virginia and return it to its core values and strict adherence to the Constitution.

If you would be interested in participating in this process, which will not cost you but a little time, please email me back with the following:

1.) Name

2.) County

3.) Republican Unit Commitee (If you’re not sure, send me your FULL address and I’ll find out).

4.) Phone number

I’m working to keep track of all of the different dates, but with over 100 unit committees in the state I’ll need your help.

This is our chance to restore our Republic. We must not quit now. As Tom Paine also wrote, “These are the times that try men’s souls. The summer soldier and the sunshine patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of their country, but he that stands it now, deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.”

We owe it to ourselves, and, more importantly, future generations to continue fighting the good fight to restore our liberties and freedom.

As Dr. Paul would say, “Let’s do it!!”

For the Republic,

Brian R Gentry

What:  Door to Door Canvassing

When:  Tomorrow, Saturday, February 2, 2008, 10am

Where:  Alexandria

Meet at James K Polk School

            5000 Polk Avenue

            Alexandria, VA 22304

Fellow Patriots,

Tomorrow morning, Saturday, February 2, 2008, we will be meeting at the James K Polk School in Alexandria, VA in order to canvass the Polk precinct.

We will have maps and materials ready to go at 10am at the school.  If you have more materials please feel free to bring them and share them with others.

Also, if you’re a resident of Alexandria City, Arlington or Falls Church city, we will have the forms needed to help get Ron Paul supporters elected as delegates to the 2008 Republican Convention.  All you have to do is fill it out and we’ll take care of the rest.

We need to canvass every day from now until past the February 12 primary, because the delegate process goes longer than that.

Wear your Ron Paul t-shirts, sweat shirts, hats and buttons.  Bring your friends, children and family members and come and join us in spreading Dr. Paul’s message of freedom, peace and prosperity.

For the Republic,

Brian R Gentry

March for Life: Tuesday, January 22nd

posted on 01/17/2008 at 5:33 pm EST

I would like to invite every volunteer in Virginia to join me in passing out materials promoting Dr. Paul during the upcoming “March for Life” in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, Jan. 22. We will be meeting at our home base, the Smithsonian Metro Station, at 8 AM. The latest you can arrive is 9 AM, but we need a core group of at least 10-15 to be there by 8 so we can get properly set-up. Please email me (Michael@RonPaul2008.com) if you can be there by 8am.

Slim Jims, banners, signs, and other materials will be heavily supplied at the metro. The Smithsonian station will also serve as home base for us.

The hallmark of this campaign is grassroots creativity. So, I encourage people to make banners, print out material, or bring anything we can use to spread Dr. Paul’s message. It never hurts to have extra supplies on hand.

Here are some things to remember:

• Bring a backpack to hold Slim Jims and other materials.
• Any volunteer-created banners need to be pro-life themed.
• Due to limited parking, I suggest either taking the metro and parking there or riding together in groups.

There will be a Conference Call tonight at 7:00 pm to go over all the details. The number is 202-349-0402, and the access code is 7206.

Also, please email me your name and phone number and I will put you on our email list for updates.

Thanks for all your hard work and effort on behalf of Dr. Paul. This is the best chance for us to positively influence the pro-life community. Remember to read over Dr. Paul’s position if you are unfamiliar with it and be ready to answer questions. We look forward to spreading his pro-life message of peace, freedom, and prosperity at this year’s March for Life. America is going through some tough times, but we have the answer and the man. Let’s make Dr. Paul proud!

Become a Ron Paul Delegate today!

posted on 01/03/2008 at 1:42 pm EST

Greetings! My name is Dennis Fusaro, and I am the National Field Director for the Ron Paul 2008 Presidential Campaign Committee. With Virginia’s February 12, 2008 primary fast approaching, I wanted to thank you for everything you’ve done so far in Virginia. As a fellow Virginian, I also wanted to let you know what you can do to help ensure that all of Virginia’s 63 “National Delegates” to September’s Republican Convention support Congressman Paul’s nomination.

First, what should you do today?

  • Complete and postmark not later than January 14 this registration form or check your Virginia registration status. Because Virginia voters are not officially registered by party, any registered voter may vote for Dr. Paul in the primary, regardless of party affiliation.
  • Sign up as a volunteer on the Campaign’s RonPaulVa.com website. This site will help to coordinate grassroots activity in Virginia and will show you which delegate spots need to be filled statewide. If you want to be a delegate or a “co-Whip” (a volunteer coordinator) for a specific county or city within your district note that in your registration.
  • Encourage every Ron Paul supporter in Virginia to do the same.

Second, let me explain a little of Virginia’s rather complex process. National Delegates will be bound to vote for the winner of the Virginia Primary–but only on the first ballot. Given the very real possibility of an open convention that will require multiple ballots to nominate a candidate, it is not enough that we win the Primary! We need to ensure that all 63 National Delegates are committed Paul supporters. Briefly, these National Delegates will be selected as follows:

  1. A series of local mass meetings across Virginia will select “State Delegates” from each county or independent city as well as “Congressional District Delegates.”
  2. Congressional District Delegates will select 33 National Delegates at eleven Congressional District Conventions (”CD Conventions”) to be held in May across Virginia.
  3. At the final statewide convention in early June, State Delegates will select the remaining at-large National Delegates.

So, what else can you do to help to ensure that we elect Paul supporters as National Delegates?

  • Join the Republican committee in your county or independent city. Click here for contact information for your local committee.
  • Watch for the official “Calls” for your local Republican Committee’s meeting online or in your local “newspaper of record.” The “Call” should, if done properly, instruct you how to participate in the local mass meeting and where to get forms to file as a State or CD Delegate.
  • Identify and prepare Paul other supporters to become State, CD and National delegates We will coordinate these filings through the the Campaign’s Virginia site to avoid “over-filing” National Delegate candidates. Each candidate for National Delegate should file simultaneously to be a CD delegate and a state delegate.
  • Ensure that Ron Paul supporters turn out to the local meetings and then the various conventions. Turn out will be key to each of these!

You will soon be able to contact your “District Whip” directly for more information about how to get involved. Clickable links will be added here for each Whip.

Working together, we will win Virginia’s delegates–and get Congressman Paul that much closer to winning the Republican nomination. Remember, all politics is local: it begins and ends with YOU!

Dennis Fusaro
