Ron Paul is on the Ballot in DC!
Washington, DC Headquarters Blog
It’s Time to Win the District for Ron Paul
Ron Paul has a very good chance of winning Washington, D.C. — if you act now.
There are just five days to go before the Washington, D.C. Republican primary on Feb. 12. There may be as few as 3,000 voters participating in the primary. 16 delegates are up for grabs. We can win them.
To do that, we have to identify more Ron Paul supporters and we have to get out the vote. There is still time - sign-up as a Precinct Leader and begin canvassing your precinct immediately. Every new RP supporter we find and every undecided Republican we win over may provide the winning margin.
Put 110% into your efforts as a Precinct Leader. And urge all your friends who are registered Republicans in the District to vote for Ron Paul on Feb. 12 (unless you know they’re supporting someone else).
These last few days can make all the difference.
A win in the District will give Ron Paul much-needed momentum and help to establish him as THE alternative to John McCain.
The push-back is under way. Help us win the battle of the Potomac!

The Time is Now–DC Effort for Feb 12th
DC Ron Paul Supporters,
This is the moment we all have been waiting for: Seven days to go before the DC Republican Primary on Feb 12th. The time is now to step up for the cause of liberty and help Ron Paul win in Washington D.C.
If you want to help Ron Paul continue his Republican message of limited government, lower taxes, and a strong national defense please sign up to be a precinct leader here: https://voters.ronpaul2008.com/grassroots/signup.php As a precinct leader you would make voter ID phone calls, record the results in our database, and provide potential voters with literature encouraging them to vote for Ron Paul.
For those of you who are already precinct leaders remember to devote time to make voter ID calls today. We may have this opportunity ever again.
Sincerely,
Stephen Toglia

Washington D.C. Primary Efforts-Last Registration Day this Monday Jan 14th
Ron Paul 2008 DC Supporters,
The DC campaign efforts are moving forward. We just sent out direct mail to hundreds of possible Ron Paul supporters. Now we have to further our efforts towards recruiting more Ron Paul supporters by Jan 14th. To accomplish this we need to ensure that everyone who wants to vote for Ron Paul is a registered Republican or registers by Jan 14th. Please contact fellow supporters, friends, and family in DC to remind them to make sure they are registered to vote in DC!!You can acquire voter registration cards online by going to this site and printing them out: http://www.dcboee.org/serv/Download_index.shtm
Please make sure that you check off REPUBLICAN, PRINT, SIGN, DATE, AND MAIL to the DC Board of Elections and Ethics before the deadline.
If it is easier for you, please go here to register online: http://www.dcboee.org/voterreg/vic_index.shtm
After Jan 14th, we will then turn our efforts to phone banking, voter ID, and canvassing. We invite everyone that supports Dr. Paul to get involved by becoming a precinct leader.
Victory in D.C. is possible! Let’s make it happen.

You did it!
Thanks to your hard work collecting 551 signatures, Ron Paul is now officially on the ballot for the February 12, 2008 D.C. Republican primary.
While I am deeply grateful for all of the grassroots activity in D.C., I would especially like to thank a few people for their outstanding efforts: Stephen Toglia, Brad Jansen, B.K. Lunde, Damien Ober, Brett Guidry, Nancy Sellers, James Hendrickson, Adrian Salsgiver, Berin Szoka, Jeremy Siegel, Pranav Badhwar, Kenneth Bolles, Dan Fitzgerald, and Matt Gaffney. Thanks also to our 32 delegate and alternate candidates!
While most campaigns rely on a single early primary victory to make their victory appear inevitable, we alone have the broad grass roots support needed to fight for every delegate in every primary in the nation. But a victory in D.C. would be especially valuable for three reasons. First, a clear victory for the freedom message in our nation’s capital would rock the Establishment and shock the mainstream media. Second, another early primary victory would help us build momentum nation-wide. Best of all, given historical trends, we could capture D.C.’s 19 delegates (more than New Hampshire’s 12!) with as few as 1,500 votes–the highest delegate-per-voter ratio in the country! All 19 delegates would be bound to support us at the Republican Convention in September, 2008.
Because only registered Republicans may vote in the D.C. primary, we have until January 14, 2008 to spread the freedom message to every voter in every precinct of D.C. After that date, we will need to focus on getting as many registered Republicans to turn out to the polls as possible. With historical voter turn-out rates in DC Republican primaries of around 1%, turning out our supporters will be critical.
So what can you do today?
- Register as a Republican in D.C. or verify that your existing Republican registration is accurate and current.
- Ask anyone you know who might support Dr. Paul to do the same.
- Join the unofficial DC Meetup group to coordinate with other volunteers.
- Reply to this email to:
- RSVP for the January 31 DC-Area GOP Regional Straw Poll, our chance to demonstrate our strength just days before the February 5 “megaprimary.”
- Let us know if you need a yard sign or bumper sticker.
- Request more information about how to get involved.
Again, thank you for your support and hard work! On February 12, let’s remind Washington, D.C. that, as Thomas Jefferson said, “The federal government is our servant, not our master!”
Sincerely,
Debbie Hopper

DC Ballot Access Update
Thanks to the help of so many dedicated Ron Paul supporters, we currently have in hand a total of 370 signatures to turn into the Board of Elections & Ethics for the petition signature drive to get Ron Paul on the Republican Primary ballot in February. The minimum number to turn is 300, but we need to have a buffer zone for those signatures that may not be valid for one reason or another. Our target number is 500 signatures. If you have not signed a petition, it is not to late to do so. If you have a petition that you have been circulating, please contact me as soon as possible to schedule a time for Stephen Toglia or myself to pick them up. We must have all petitions turned in to the Board of Elections by Thursday, December 13, before 4:45 p.m.
